OLED & Panel Uniformity Tests

Twenty-seven test videos for panel-level defects that only show up on a real screen: backlight bleed, IPS glow, OLED near-black uniformity, mura, blooming and viewing-angle colour shift. Most are best watched in a fully dark room at your normal brightness, since ambient light hides the exact defects these are built to reveal.

What these files actually are

These patterns hold a fixed near-black or gray field long enough to inspect the whole panel, rather than cutting between scenes - genuine backlight bleed or mura stays fixed in the same spot regardless of viewing angle, which is how you tell it apart from normal IPS/OLED glow. Free to download, no watermark, no attribution required, each file listed with a SHA-256 hash and VirusTotal link.

Common use cases

OLED purchase inspection

Check for vignetting, tinting and uneven brightness before the return window closes.

Backlight bleed diagnosis

Isolate whether an issue is backlight bleed (LCD) or normal IPS/OLED glow.

Backlight Bleed Test – Full Black Screen

View in a dark room at your normal brightness. Glow leaking from the edges and corners is backlight bleed.

Download

IPS Glow Test – Dark Screen Test

View in a dark room, then change your viewing angle. A silver/white sheen that moves with your position is IPS glow; fixed glow is backlight bleed.

Frequently asked questions

What's a normal amount of glow?
Some IPS glow or OLED near-black glow is normal and shifts with viewing angle; backlight bleed stays fixed in the same spot regardless of angle.
What room conditions should I use?
A fully dark room gives the most accurate result - ambient light hides real defects.
Which test should I start with?
Backlight Bleed Test and OLED Near Black Test cover most purchase-inspection cases; go to the mura or blooming tests only if you already suspect a specific panel-uniformity issue.
