example-file.com generates and hosts placeholder sample and test files — images, videos, audio, PDFs, documents, archives, and fonts — in specific sizes and formats, along with a simple file conversion tool. The Site is provided to help with testing scenarios such as upload limits, accepted file types, storage quotas, and similar technical checks.

The sample files contain placeholder data only. They are not real photos, documents, or media, are generated by this Site, and are not copied or re-hosted from any other sample-file site or copyrighted source.

Sample files may be downloaded and used, including for commercial purposes, without registration, attribution, or payment, for the testing and development purposes described on the Site.

Because sample files contain placeholder data rather than real media or document content, they are not suitable for testing how a file renders, plays, or opens — only for testing size, format, and upload/storage handling.

The Site's conversion tool lets you upload a file and convert it to another format. Uploaded files are processed automatically, stored only temporarily on our servers, and deleted automatically within a short period after processing.

You are solely responsible for any file you upload. You must own the file or otherwise have the legal right to upload and convert it. Do not upload files that are illegal, infringe someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights, or contain malware.

You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; upload malicious, infringing, or illegal content through the conversion tool; attempt to bypass rate limits or upload restrictions; scrape or bulk-download the Site in a way that degrades service for others; or attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Site's systems.

The Site's design, code, text, and branding are owned by example-file.com and may not be copied or reused without permission, aside from the generated sample files, which are provided for free use as described in Section 2.

The Site uses third-party services, including Google AdSense for advertising and Cloudflare for content delivery and analytics. These services may collect information as described in our Privacy Policy.

The Site and all files are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, example-file.com is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or any file downloaded from it.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
